Structuring a presentation

Most presentations/speeches follow the standard structure of introduction, body and conclusion. The structure should:

  • tell them what you are going to tell them (introduction)
  • tell them (body)
  • tell them what you have told them (conclusion).

Introduction

  • Grab the audience attention.
  • Introduce the topic.
  • Outline the main topics: support with visual outline.

Body

Main point

  • Supporting point
  • Supporting point
  • Supporting point
  • Clearly state each main point first.
  • Give details/examples to support points.

Conclusion

To conclude...

  • Sum up the main points.
  • Add a big picture statement.
