This resource will help you critically discuss key historical, technological and theoretical developments in communication design, and their relationships to contemporary communication design in the Design, Commerce and Culture course.

This resource was initially designed for postgraduate students, but is valuable for design students at all levels. It looks at taking a critical approach to the task: analysing ideas and points of view, questioning any assumptions that are made, evaluating the evidence you have gathered and being aware of other writers’ differing perspectives. It also addresses being specific in your writing and demonstrating an awareness of the complexity that surrounds any argument you make.
