Problems
The multiple challenges of group work can lead to problems with both the final outcome (product) and the way members work together (process).
Product:
- Lack of unity and coherence
- No developed point of view
- No consistent approach: language, format, and layout
Process:
- Members not contributing to the work
- Non-attendance at meetings
- Lack of organisation and communication
All these factors lead to low marks and frustration
Solutions
These problems can be overcome by:
- meeting regularly
- sharing research results
- talking through the task together
- identifying the main ideas/ problems /solutions
- reading and working on a draft of the report/ presentation together.
