The multiple challenges of group work can lead to problems with both the final outcome (product) and the way members work together (process).

Diagram showing examples of group work challenges. Use link below for long description

  • Lack of unity and coherence
  • No developed point of view
  • No consistent approach: language, format, and layout

  • Members not contributing to the work
  • Non-attendance at meetings
  • Lack of organisation and communication

All these factors lead to low marks and frustration

These problems can be overcome by:

  • meeting regularly
  • sharing research results
  • talking through the task together
  • identifying the main ideas/ problems /solutions
  • reading and working on a draft of the report/ presentation together.

Meet, Share, Work = Success
